Bylaw Review:

Misconception between what exactly each committee does:

-Fraternal should be larger, organized events for Brotherly bonding that are sometimes mandatory. Certain events are mandated by the bylaws specifically.
-Activities should be impromptu gatherings like movie nights and video game nights that are intended to welcome guests as well as Brothers. Bylaws indicate that activities should form intramural teams and form intramural schedules, and this has not been done in recent years. Historically (before COVID), activities committee hosted events nearly every weekend, and is starting to do more now

Arguments against:
-If combined, it would draw people away from Rush committee, making their committee smaller
-Previously (1.5+ years ago), activities committee didn't play as large of a role
-If committees merged and weren't managed well, then all Brotherhood activities wouldn't run as well, not just half of them
-Could be harder to have your voice heard with a larger committee
-Could put more work/stress on the chair

Arguments in favor:
-These committees are thematically linked, wouild encourage crosstalk between ideas
-Fraternal does a few large events, activities has a lot of small events. Would balance workload for everyone over the course of the term, but in fairness many committees have short spikes of a lot of work followed by longer periods of not as much work
