Look into officers being required to be on housing, and which house they should be required to be in.
Do you have any specific ideas other than "Just look into it"? If not, I will include a link to this issue in my next report so that Brothers may comment.
The ideas for potential changes are as follows:
Bylaw Review:
Mike Henry:
-Table treasurer issue for now
-Four person hierarchy (President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer) that should be on housing
-Put Secretary anywhere on housing, but try not to put everyone at 8 to leave rooms for nibs
-Allow for the treasurer and secretary to flip houses
-Chaplain, Risk Manager shouldn't be required to be on housing
-Member should be on housing if at least 50% of Brothers are on housing, but should not be a bylaw specifically
Undergrads:
-Member should not be dependent on how many Brothers are living on housing, makes finding housing extremely difficult to plan, but should be required to live on housing just as all Brothers are unless Bylaws are specifically suspended
-Secretary should be on housing due to the hierarchy of house positions, responsible for taking minutes, reports, etc and should be in the know about the happenings of the chapter
-Should they be living on secondary housing? Currently to have 2 exec members present
-Treasurer should be at 8 for all records to be kept at a house we own rather than rent, so nothing gets lost. Hypothetically, if we were to own a second house outright, this would be okay
-Require chaplain to be on housing?
-Makes them more accessible, but at the same time too much accessibility makes them take on the role of risk manager and president, putting a lot of stress on them. Their purpose is not as a crisis manager, but rather someone you can talk to if needed
-Harder to talk to chaplain if not present, but also not the only person you can approach with a issue.
-But if the chaplain is entirely unaccessible, they aren't doing their job
-Of all recent chaplains, most don't believe they should be required to live on housing
-Many exec positions deal in crisis management, so it's important for them to have a place they can go to take some time for themselves, concern that if chaplain were to live on housing, they would never have time to care for themselves. Even still, respect boundaries
-Risk Manager
-Risk Manager should have a safe place to go home to, shouldn't be forced to live on housing
Conclusion:
Member at Large should be on housing
